UNITED WAY MONTCALM-IONIA COUNTIES RECEIVES GRANT FROM GREENVILLE AREA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION FOR $5,518
FENWICK, MI (JAN.2018) – United Way Montcalm-Ionia Counties is pleased to announce it has received a $5,518 grant from the Greenville Area Community Foundation (GACF). These funds will support the purchase of a much needed multipurpose printer/copier.
United Way Montcalm-Ionia Counties (UWMI) used the GACF grant to make a special equipment purchase of a refurbished Copystar CS 6550ci that replaced two malfunctioning, multifunction printers/copiers in its office. UWMI did not have budget dollars to make large equipment purchases such as a multi-purpose printer/copier. Its former equipment was donated 9 years ago by a state-wide peer agency that had upgraded to new equipment. The equipment was nearing the end of its useful life lacking in reliability, requiring more service calls, and high consumable costs. UWMI makes every effort to ensure that it effectively uses available funds and that the maximum amount of fundraising revenue goes to impact work in the community through direct efforts or by supporting those of our Affiliate Partner Agencies.
The Greenville Area Community Foundation grant was especially needed to ensure that UWMI’s work would continue without interruption. In addition to the fact that as any equipment purchase planned or as an emergency replacement would have severely limited our ability to meet the needs of our partners and the recipients of our impact work. The purchase of a refurbished Copystar CS 6550ci allows UWMI to continue to control costs by producing printed materials on an as-needed basis and reduce the amount of materials we are currently required to outsource due to lack of quality and reliability of our current equipment.
