Jeff Blanchard Bio
I have spent 35 years in warehousing and distribution and am currently the Sr. Manager of Michigan Distribution for Wolverine Worldwide. My career started when after graduating from Michigan State University with a degree in Fisheries and Wildlife I went to work to work in a warehouse doing manual labor while I looked for a “real job” in my field. Life and economic conditions intervened and I ended up moving into a management role, first at Spartan Stores and then at Wolverine Worldwide. As my career progressed I went back to school and completed a Masters of Management degree from Aquinas College.
For the past 20 years I have worked in Howard City. That has given me a firsthand appreciation for the difficulties facing residents in rural areas and for the challenges today’s economy and the economy of the future place on them. It is a very different world than the one many of us stepped into as young adults 40 or 50 years ago. During this tenure I have been actively engaged as a member of the WWW leadership team for supporting The United Way. I have seen the generosity in the hearts of people for those who share their community as well as people who have been helped in their struggles through that generosity. I am looking forward to joining the board of the Montcalm/Ionia United Way and the opportunity to make what small difference I can to help our people and communities transition into success in the 21st century.
