United Way Welcomes Justin Kessler to the Board
My name is Justin Kessler. I was born and raised in Big Rapids, MI until I attended Michigan State University. Shortly after graduating with a B.S. in Food Science (2006) I began working at Cargill in the Quality and Food Safety department. Over the next 10 years I held various roles at the Lake Odessa facility, Hereford, England, and Big Lake, MN. In 2017 I returned to Lake Odessa, after accepting a role as the 3rd Shift Plant Superintendent. In this role I get to interact with all departments and levels of stakeholders to ensure that they are safe and we are producing food safe product. Over the course of my career I’ve been privileged to be a part of a wide range of community involvement activities; from planning a record breaking United Way facility campaign to organizing Thanksgiving dinner at the Ronald McDonald House. Outside of work I enjoy cooking, traveling, and home remodeling at my new house in Kentwood (well at least it’s taking up a bit of my time).
One of the things that I’m most excited about joining the United Way team, is being a part of an organization that helps people in so many ways. I truly believe that in order for assistance to be helpful it needs to be specific to the receiver and the United Way enables that to happen.
