Isabella Bank is closing on Monday to allow their employees to partake in service projects.

The closure is a part of their "Compassion for Action" event, which encourages 400 of their employees to spend time volunteering in their communities, according to a press release sent out by the bank on Tuesday.

The employees will be participating in two projects: One for Habitat for Humanity of Saginaw-Shiawassee Counties and the other for United Way of Montcalm-Ionia Counties.

The Habitat for Humanity project will have volunteers work on improving Bliss Park and several Habitat for Humanity homes within Saginaw County. The United Way project involves having the participants making roughly 50,000 food packs for hungry residents in Montcalm, Isabella, and Mecosta Counties in partnership with the Michigan Food Bank.

“I am thrilled with the level of commitment and enthusiasm we are receiving from our employees,” said Jae Evans, CEO of Isabella Bank, in the release.  “Our employees are dedicated to giving back to the community, and I look forward to the impact they will make.”

In 2017, employees donated over 8200 hours to 560 different organizations across the Isabella Bank footprint, according to the release.

ATMs, online, mobile, and telephone banking will still be available that day, the release said.
