Terri Legg was named Executive Director of United Way Montcalm – Ionia Counties in March of 2016. With more than 20 years of experience in the public and nonprofit sectors, she has gained a reputation as an accomplished, strategic, and energetic leader. Terri has transformed the United Way from a fundraiser to a convener, mobilizer, and agent for community change. Under her guidance 211 was brought back to the region and new community initiatives like Sponsor a Classroom, United to End Hunger and redeveloping Community Impact granting have helped to service those most in need in Montcalm and Ionia counties.  In 2020, Terri was named the Champions for Children Community Member of the Year and was nominated in both 2019 and 2020 for the 50 Most Influential Women in West Michigan award. 

Before joining United Way, Terri served organizations like Jackson National Life Insurance working in Organizational Development and Human Resources, and at both New Horizons and Ross Medical as a Senior Career Consultant. She has been deeply involved in the community serving in leadership roles on many boards and youth organizations. Terri has an Associate degree of Management and Bachelor degree in Business Administration from Davenport University. 

When not at work, you can find Terri enjoying life with her 4 children. She is an avid traveler and adventurer who enjoys the road less traveled. Her current goal is to visit all the National Parks and to see all 50 states.
